Chernobyl wasn't always haunting. It wasn't always empty. It wasn't always a wasteland reflecting of human error and sheer terror. Once it was a beautiful location, which a massive population. Before the nuclear meltdown, Chernobyl had a population of 14,000 residents. In 1977 there was a nuclear power plant commissioned by the government. Pripyat was a neighboring town to Chernobyl, where many nuclear workers had lived. Pripyat had a population of 49,400 people. April 25, 1986 life was normal, life consisted of waking up and getting water and food. Life consisted of seeing family and friends, going to work, being able to go outside and be safe.
